Cowboy tennis competes in first Big 12 match of the spring season, faces defeat from TCU

There was no recovery from early struggles for the Cowboys.

The Oklahoma State men’s tennis team opened its Big 12 season with a loss as TCU dominated 4-0 against the Cowboys on Friday evening at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

After No. 8 OSU dropped the doubles point, it failed to make a comeback in singles.

If there’s one key take-away from Friday’s match against TCU (12-4 overall, 1-0 Big 12), coach Jay Udwadia said it’s an awareness of the high competition level in the Big 12 Conference.

“Everyone can play, you know,” he said. “Big 12 is a rough conference, and if you’re a little off, you’re not playing well, so they’re gonna get you, so you gotta stay on top of your toes.
