Cobb nearing return, but he, Elliott, Scott out for TCU series

Trey Cobb has become accustomed to holding a walkie-talkie.

While recovering from a broken bone in his right elbow, Cobb, a senior right-hander on the Oklahoma State baseball team, has essentially served as the Cowboys’ bullpen coach, relaying pitching coach Rob Walton’s in-game decisions to OSU’s relief pitchers. Initially hopeful to return by the Cowboys’ Big 12 opener, which is Friday at No. 3 TCU, Cobb instead told the O’Colly he will “hopefully” be ready for the OSU’s midweek matchup with Wichita State on Tuesday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

“We’re almost ready to go,” Cobb said.
