Iowa State (5-3, 3-2) scored a touchdown on its opening drive of the fourth quarter, tying the contest and erasing the advantage OSU had brought into the final period.

The Cowboy offense then came onto the field with the game tied and about nine minutes left in regulation, but was forced to punt as the Iowa State crowd started to sense the situation and increased its volume between every snap.
