Andrew Luck shocked the NFL world this past week when he abruptly retired due to nagging injuries and a constant cycle of pain. Now a former Cowboy could be in line to earn a job because of it.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, 2011 Big 12 champion quarterback Brandon Weeden is among a number of quarterbacks the Colts are considering bringing in to back up Jacoby Brissett, who moved from QB2 to QB1 with Luck’s retirement. Weeden is in a battle with Brock Osweiler and Matt Cassel to potentially earn a shot at the 53-man roster as Brissett’s backup.
