Big 12 baseball notebook: Boone, Cowboys receive All-Big 12 honors

The Big 12’s home-run leader is representing the Oklahoma State baseball squad as an all-conference first team player.

Trevor Boone, a junior center fielder from Tulsa, was the only Cowboy named to the All-Big 12 First Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Boone has 18 home runs this season, and his 46 RBIs tie him at fourth in the Big 12 with Texas Tech’s Brian Klein.

Although Boone holds the top honor among his teammates, nine other Cowboys received all-conference accolades.

Colin Simpson, Christian Funk, Jensen Elliott and Andrew Navigato are All-Big 12 Second Team honorees. This marks the third year Simpson, a senior catcher/designated hitter/outfielder from Edmond, has reached all-conference status.
