BASKET CASE: OSU misses too many easy shots in loss to Iowa State

KANSAS CITY, MO.

Jeffrey Carroll, who knows his way around the rim, drove in for a relatively unencumbered shot on a fast break. A basket would have cut Iowa State's lead to three points in OSU's never-ending attempt to stay relevant in this Big 12 basketball quarterfinal.

Carroll laid the ball up; it hit the back iron and ricocheted out. And that wasn't the only time Thursday it seemed the Cowboys were shooting at an upside down peach basket.

OSU was ushered out of the Big 12 Tournament with a 92-83 loss to Iowa State. A score that sounds like the Cowboys couldn't find enough defense.
