Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason is emerging as a candidate for OSU’s vacant position, according to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Mason was in Stillwater this week, according to Eli Lederman of the Tulsa World.
Mason, 52, just took over as the Tigers’ DC for the 2021 season. Auburn ranked 61st nationally in total defense in 2021, giving up 373.8 yards per game. The Tigers ranked 27th nationally in scoring defense, giving up only 21.
