A.J. Green’s dreams are days away from coming true, but unfortunately his father won’t be there to see it happen.
On Monday, Green announced his father and namesake, Alvin Green, died. The NFL Draft starts on Thursday, and A.J. is expected to be taken at some point this weekend.
I had the pleasure of talking with Alvin before this past season for a feature I was writing on A.J. He was a proud father. Going into this past season, some of his favorite memories of A.J.’s time at Oklahoma State included A.J. dominating West Virginia in Morgantown as a sophomore.
