Atlantic Coast Conference football schedules annually are notable for two things. A) Georgia Tech and Florida State almost always play tough and interesting schedules; and B) Notre Dame’s scheduling alliance with the ACC really props up the league.
And that’s definitely the case in 2020.
Georgia Tech and Florida State play superb schedules, and Notre Dame plays six ACC teams, one more than the required five, according to its alliance.
The ACC and the Southeastern Conference are the only Power 5 leagues that play eight-game conference schedules. Five of the ACC’s 14 teams play two Power 5 opponents non-conference in 2020, leaving nine teams with a solitary Power 5 foe.
