3 takeaways: OSU shows early signs of life, struggles as game progresses

The Cowboys started off the game hot when OSU receiver Shamar Rigby threw a 63-yard touchdown to Rodney Fields Jr. courtesy of a trick play.

But OSU couldn't keep up with Houston on Saturday, falling 39-17 to drop 1-5 on the season

Here are the three takeaways from the game:

Jackson runs the offense

Initially brought in as a wide receiver for the Cowboys, Sam Jackson V, a former college quarterback, got the start behind center. As the game went on, small mistakes and a lack of efficiency seeped through the cracks.

The Cowboys had just 10 first downs the entire game and a total of 225 yards on offense, while going 5 for 14 on 3rd down conversions.
