Women's Bedlam journal: Late traveling call costs Sooners

NORMAN — Running through a well-designed inbounds play from beneath the basket with 4.7 seconds left, Oklahoma's Maddie Manning circled through the lane, caught the pass and went up for what would have been the go-ahead layup.

But Sooner celebration disappeared when Manning was whistled for traveling on the shot, giving the ball back to Oklahoma State, which held on for a 70-67 win Saturday afternoon at Lloyd Noble Center.

OU coach Sherri Coale was asked how she saw the play unfold, but admitted she couldn't offer any insight.

“When I saw Maddie open, I jumped and closed my eyes,” Coale said.
