Walk-On Wednesday: Native Alaskan, freshman RB Anthony Sheppard loving life in Oklahoma

NORMAN — Anthony Sheppard stood outside the OU football facilities on two different days in the winter of 2014, waiting patiently for running backs coach Cale Gundy to emerge.

“Actually, the funny thing is that it actually feels colder here in Oklahoma than it is in Alaska because we don’t have wind chill in Alaska,” Sheppard said. “It’ll get negative-20, but it’s like a still cold. But here if you’re walking to class and that wind is moving, it almost feels like you’re getting shanked with the cold.
