Upgraded Sooner Schooner revealed

NORMAN — The Sooner Schooner is ready for action.

After an accident last season left OU searching for a replacement, the new Schooner has been delivered.

A pair of RUF/NEKS — Jared Bush and Ryan Ard — drove the Schooner on Tuesday for the first time after the wagon was delivered from Werner Wagon Works in Horton, Kan.

The new Schooner — the fourth edition of the iconic mascot — was made necessary after a mishap during last year's West Virginia game.

The Sooner Schooner came out for its customary ride on the field following an OU touchdown, but took a turn too sharply and rolled over, sending the riders tumbling to the turf.
