Georgia plays at Alabama on Saturday, and if you think that sounds like a big deal, it’s probably because it is.
And not just because Bama and Georgia are 1-2 in my rankings, which are based on what teams have done this season.
Also because it’s such a rarely-played rivalry. In the last 12 years, the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs have played only once that wasn’t in either the SEC Championship Game or the national championship game.
That game, in 2015, was a 35-10 Alabama victory at Georgia.
Now the Bulldogs go to Tuscaloosa, and that’s a rare trip.
