Traffic may be challenge for OU Sooners’ home-opener

NORMAN — Sooner football fans traveling to Norman for Saturday's home-opener against the University of Louisiana at Monroe will encounter more road construction than usual.

For starters, the Lindsey Street interchange at Interstate 35 is closed down — and will remain that way for the entire football season — as crews work on a multimillion-dollar bridge project in the area.

Due to the numerous road projects currently underway in Norman, the city's police department will be out in numbers before and after Saturday's 6 p.m. game against the Warhawks.

Drivers who brave Lindsey Street should be prepared to wait.
