The fourth-ranked Oklahoma basketball team lost 87-69 at Kansas State on Tuesday night, and some troubling trends mushroomed.
Starting with Trae Young’s Big 12-record 12 turnovers.
* In non-conference play, Young had 42 turnovers in 11 games. In six Big 12 games, Young has committed 46 turnovers. That’s 7.7 turnovers a game.
Only against Texas Tech did Young have fewer than six turnovers. He had four against the Red Raiders. It was seven and nine in two games against TCU. Six against OSU. Eight against West Virginia.
Sure, Young always has the ball in his hands, and OU is an uptempo team, and he’s a high-risk, high-reward type of player, fearless in penetrating the paint or trying to beat double teams.
