NORMAN — Trae Young was born in Lubbock, Texas.
He was immersed in all things Texas Tech by his father, former Red Raiders star Rayford Young.
Then when it came time to make a college selection, Trae Young did the same thing his father did all those years before — he chose to stay close to home.
Tuesday night at Lloyd Noble Center, the son will face his father's alma mater for the first time when the No. 9-ranked Sooners host No. 8 Texas Tech (6 p.m., ESPNU).
“I'm still trying to figure out what color shirt my dad is going to be wearing tomorrow,” Trae said after Monday's practice.
