Top 2027 in-state recruit takes less money to flip to Oklahoma

The best 2027 recruit in the state of Oklahoma will stay home after all.

Just weeks after following the money to Texas Tech, five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett, from Fort Gibson High School, flipped his commitment to the Sooners on Thursday morning. According to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong, Hackett took a "good chunk less" to go to OU instead of Texas Tech.

Ultimately, Hackett bet on himself and the road to the NFL going through Norman.

“If I’m in the NFL, which is what I want to do overall, that money is not going to matter and I’m going to bet on myself a good amount of the time and that’s what I’m doing," Hackett told Rivals.
