It's about to be a long few days for some football players trying to pursue their NFL dreams.
NFL teams must trim down from 90 players and set their 53-man rosters for the 2025 season by 3 p.m. CT Tuesday, and there are a handful of former Oklahoma Sooners on the chopping block. Some former OU players were obvious choices as locks or to get cut even before training camp started, but a few rookies and veterans had the chance to battle for a spot, even if it seemed like a long shot.
Ethan Downs, DL, Jacksonville Jaguars
Ethan Downs was already a long shot as an undersized and undrafted rookie, so there's no surprise if Downs doesn't make the 53-man roster yet.
