I chatted with Ted Owens on Wednesday, for a weekend story I hope you enjoy. But before we discussed the subject at hands, Owens shared a great tale.
Owens, of course, is the 90-year-old Oklahoma treasure. He grew up in Hollis, in far southwestern Oklahoma, and ended up playing basketball at OU. He went into coaching and eventually became the 20-year head coach at Kansas, where he took the Jayhawks to two Final Fours (1971, 1974). Owens later coached at Oral Roberts University, Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Euro League and Tulsa Metro Christian High School.
