It’s been a whirlwind few months for wide receiver Jarvis Baxter.
The journey for the Sooners’ junior took another turn Tuesday when Baxter was placed on scholarship after initially arriving in Norman as a walk-on.
Through three games, Baxter has seven catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Baxter signed with South Florida after starring at Trinity Valley Community College the last two seasons but needed more credit hours during the summer than South Florida would accept.
He wound up walking on at OU in part due to his existing relationships with wide receiver Dede Westbrook and first-year offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley, who had recruited Baxter when Riley was at East Carolina.
