Sooners in the playoff, will face Alabama in Orange Bowl

GRAPEVINE, Texas — As the cheers started to die down following the presentation of the Big 12 Championship trophy on Saturday afternoon at AT&T Stadium, the chant started.

“We want Bama,” plenty of the Oklahoma fans in the southwest corner of the stadium said repeatedly.

They got their wish.

The Sooners made the College Football Playoff for the third time in four seasons and will take on No. 1 Alabama in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 29 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Notre Dame will play in the other semifinal in the Cotton Bowl the same day.
