Seibert, who performs double duty in the kicking department for the Sooners, doing the punting and placekicking, also was not present on Sunday, when members of the football team checked in for the opening of preseason training camp, which began on Monday.
OU beat writer Brooke Pryor reported in the Monday edition of the Oklahoma City Oklahoman that an academic issue is part of the reason for the delay in Seibert’s arrival to training camp.
No public explanation was given at the time it was first reported that Seibert was not enrolled in school this summer, and now we are being told that academics are “part” of the reason for his absence from the team.
