NORMAN — Early in the first quarter of Oklahoma's spring football game on Saturday, Sooners fans held their collective breath when running back Trey Sermon writhed in pain following a tackle by Patrick Fields.
Sermon appeared to injure a leg after Fields rolled him up on a third-and-16 run on the White team's first possession of the game.
He was eventually helped to the locker room by linebacker Kenneth Murray — who was held out of the scrimmage — and others. Fellow running back Rodney Anderson, who was dressed but didn't play, accompanied Sermon into the locker room.
