Less than two years on the job, and Texas athletics director Steve Patterson is under serious fire from inside the Longhorns community.
Patterson, who took over for longtime Longhorns AD DeLoss Dodds in November 2013, has, as one HornsDigest.com source said "turned the Horns 'brand' into a commodity to be sold." HornsDigest.com's Chip Brown wrote a lengthy piece which dives into some of the ill feelings toward Patterson that have been developing since he entered office at UT. The story sites "misleading season ticket holders," "alienating longtime donors as well as faculty and staff," and "planting a vicious press leak targeting former basketball coach Rick Barnes" as just a few of the reasons why Patterson's reputation is taking a hit.
