Report: DeMarco Murray to be named OU running backs coach

NORMAN — DeMarco Murray was one of the most electric running backs in OU history.

Now, Murray is headed back to Norman to join Lincoln Riley's staff as the Sooners' running backs coach, 247Sports reported Sunday.

Murray began his coaching career last season, coaching running backs at Arizona, where former Sooners offensive coordinator Kevin Sumlin is the head coach.

Murray spent one season as a commentator on Fox Sports college football broadcasts.

He spent seven seasons in the NFL, rushing for 7,174 yards and 49 touchdowns. Three times he made the Pro Bowl and once was named All-Pro.
