NORMAN — Oklahoma sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis remembers being in some tough situations as a young child.
The daughter of native Haitians, Pierre-Louis became a high school basketball star at Grandview Preparatory School in Boca Raton, Fla., and signed with Oklahoma to play for coach Sherri Coale.
But, Pierre-Louis said, that wasn't just because of Coale's coaching reputation.
“She's a great basketball coach, there's no doubt,” Pierre-Louis said. “But every female that comes out of here ends up being successful in life and knowing what they want to do. This was one of the reasons I wanted to join this program.
