Oklahoma and Oregon are the only NCAA Division I athletic programs to win at least three national titles each of the past two academic years.

The Sooners won softball and men’s and women’s gymnastics each of the past two springs, plus men’s golf last June. Oregon’s titles aren’t as broad-based – men’s indoor track, women’s indoor track and men’s golf in 2015-16; women’s cross-country, women’s indoor track, women’s indoor track in 2016-17. But still, an excellent athletic program for the Ducks.

And this week, the directors of those two athletic programs were given prominent positions on the College Football Playoff committee.
