NORMAN — Maggie Nichols has tried to focus on the positives in the last week-plus since a series of announcements derailed what she’d planned on being the final five weeks of her gymnastics career.
“I don’t think I could have ended it any better,” the OU star said Friday. “Just knowing I ended on a pretty good night, I had a perfect 10 that night and some other pretty great routine.
“I just don’t think I could have ended it any better, which does ease my mind with the whole situation.”
Nichols was the favorite to win the NCAA all-around title for what would’ve been the third consecutive season and the Sooners had been ranked No.
