OU women's basketball: OU sees sweet reward with better rebounding

NORMAN — When the chocolate, tootsie rolls and conversation hearts started to accumulate around the women's basketball offices the way they usually do around Valentine's Day, coach Sherri Coale and her staff got an idea.

There was no way they needed that much candy, so the coaching staff decided to offer it up as an incentive to the Oklahoma women's basketball team.

“We just had a little fun,” Coale said. “You know how you end up getting a lot of Valentine candy all around the place? We said, ‘We'll use it for good.'”

The No. 19-ranked Sooners were divided into three teams of five within their squad, and the group with the most rebounds against Texas Tech won a bag of candy.
