OU women's basketball journal: Sooners shift focus to NCAA tourney

Despite Sunday's convincing, 84-57 loss to Baylor, Oklahoma is still virtually guaranteed to earn its 17th consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

The Sooners (21-10 overall, 11-7 Big 12) are a No. 6 seed in ESPN.com analyst Charlie Creme's latest women's basketball Bracketology. Creme's most recent projections have the Sooners opening against Florida Gulf Coast in Lexington, Ky., in the Dallas Regional.

OU hasn't reached a Sweet 16 since the 2012-13 season and last reached the Final Four in 2010.

Sunday's loss snapped a three-game winning streak — the Sooners' longest win streak since early December — but coach Sherri Coale said she expects her team to respond well.
