NORMAN — As junior Vionise Pierre-Louis lay under the basket in the second quarter of No. 2-ranked Baylor's eventual 103-64 win against No. 19 Oklahoma, her hands covering a face twisted with anguish, coach Sherri Coale stormed out on the court with the kind of fire in her eyes that only comes out when the Sooners meet Baylor on the hardwood.
Seconds earlier, the center's face absorbed the elbow of Baylor's Beatrice Mompremier, sending her to the ground as play continued around her. The whistle finally sounded after Baylor (28-2, 17-1 Big 12) knocked down a 3-pointer. As the players began to run to the other end of the court, Pierre-Louis remained on the ground, and the officials called an injury timeout.
