It's been 19 years since Lisa Carey-Martin hit a two-run home run against UCLA to propel Oklahoma to its first softball national championship in school history.
On Monday night, Oklahoma will again face UCLA in the Women's College World Series.
The Sooners and Bruins haven't played each other for the title since that 2000 series. Oklahoma has since won three more national championships as the power in college softball continues to shift while the parity increases.
The Oklahoman caught up with Carey-Martin, the former All-American first baseman, to preview the championship series and look back at OU's inaugural title in 2000.
