OU RB Trey Sermon entering transfer portal

ESPN and multiple new sources reported on Saturday that Sermon, who played three seasons at OU, announced via twitter:

“I have enjoyed my three seasons as a Sooner and am looking forward to what’s next. After careful consideration, I have decided to enter the portal as a graduate transfer.”

The junior running back out of the state of Georgia played mostly in a backup role in the 2019 season, surrendering his starting role to sophomore Kennedy Brooks. Sermon recorded just 384 rushing yards and four touchdowns last season, less than half as many as the 947 yards and 13 TDs he posted the year before.
