OU, OSU 'neck and neck' for five-star guard Bryce Thompson

Lon Kruger, Bill Self and Shaka Smart spent the first day of the fall recruiting period at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa.

They were there to see Bryce Thompson, the top player in the state, work out. Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas are among the seven finalists to land the 6-foot-5 combo guard. Thompson is the 18th-ranked prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports composite.

Mike Boynton wasn’t there, but the Oklahoma State coach had already made his appearance. Boynton visited Thompson just after midnight Monday morning, Rivals analyst Corey Evans reported.
