NORMAN — Kristian Doolittle was on the OU’s team bus when he heard the news — the NCAA Tournament was cancelled.
The Sooners were already on their way back to Norman after the Big 12 Tournament was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m done,” Doolittle texted his dad, Dwayne.
Dwayne called his son to see how he was taking the news and how far along the bus was. After they hung up, Dwayne sent Kristian one more text.
“You’re a pro now.”
It’s been one week since the college basketball season — and the rest of the sports world — came to a crashing halt.
