Cavalli fans 11 as OU downs Arkansas

Bixby junior Cade Cavalli struck out a career-high 11 batters as Oklahoma defeated Arkansas, 6-3, Friday to open the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Cavalli scattered six hits and allowed three runs in five innings pitched. McLoud sophomore Wyatt Olds pitched three scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

OU (8-2) scored in the second and third innings to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but Arkansas (7-1) hit consecutive home runs in the fifth to go ahead 3-2.
