Beamer reportedly headed to South Carolina
OU assistant Shane Beamer wasn’t at Saturday night’s game.
The Sooners’ Assistant Head Coach for Offense, tight ends and H-backs coach appeared to be the only assistant who missed the 27-14 win over Baylor due to COVID-19 tests or contact tracing.
But Beamer still made news during the game, when The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reported Beamer had accepted the head coaching job at South Carolina, where he would replace the recently fired Will Muschamp.
After the win, Sooners coach Lincoln Riley said he hadn’t yet spoken to Beamer about whether or not he’d been offered the South Carolina job or accepted.
