OU football: Walk-on Ian McIver getting snaps at center

NORMAN — Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma's star center, has regularly been the first offensive lineman substituted for through the first three games of the season.

OU's staff has made a point to keep Humphrey fresh, and in doing so, give quality reps to backup center and sophomore walk-on Ian McIver.

"He did a heck of a job this summer and in fall camp of improving himself, getting his body right and understanding what he has to do," offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh said of McIver. "It’s a great story. I’m proud of the kid. He’s really helping us at a position that we need him.
