OU football: State Fair of Texas canceled, but Joe Castiglione hopeful OU-Texas can go on at Cotton Bowl

Still, OU athletic director Joe Castiglione remains hopeful that the Sooners can stage their annual Red River football game Oct. 10 against the Texas Longhorns at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.

"We understand and respect the decision made by the State Fair of Texas and acknowledge that it was an extremely difficult one," Castiglione wrote. "Our hope remains that we can play the OU-Texas game at the Cotton Bowl, but obviously every aspect of our season requires constant monitoring and planning.
