OU football: Sooners get commitment from four-star safety

Alex Grinch’s recruiting momentum continues.

The new Oklahoma defensive coordinator played a big part in the Sooners landing four-star cornerback Bryson Washington on Thursday.

Washington committed through a Twitter video, in which he rotated the Hook ‘Em Horns sign before raising his index finger and the words “There’s Only One popping onto the screen.

Washington (6-foot-3, 192 pounds) chose OU over a large group of schools including Texas. He visited Austin recently but in the end his visit to Norman for the spring game helped sway his decision toward the Sooners.

With his size and speed, the Houston high school product fits into Grinch’s “Speed D.
