On the morning the College Football Playoff field was announced, Fox College Football tweeted a short video with the four teams portrayed as SpongeBob SquarePants characters.
Why SpongeBob?
I’m sure there’s a reason, but for the life of me, I can’t figure it out.
The characters were the superhero versions of SpongeBob, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Patrick, and each had a playoff team's logo on his chest. SpongeBob had Ohio State, Squidward had Clemson, Mr. Krabs had LSU and Patrick had Oklahoma. But you didn’t see Patrick’s interlocking OU right away.
That’s because when the characters fell out of the sky, the first three struck a powerful pose while Patrick landed with a thud.
