NORMAN — It won't take a monster season for Samaje Perine to become the leading rusher in Oklahoma history.
The Sooners junior needs just 1,057 yards to pass Billy Sims as the top running back in OU history.
“You talk about guys like DeMarco Murray and Adrian Peterson, kind of the more current guys that have had success and then you go farther back to Quentin Griffin, Steve Owens, Billy Sims, Silver Shoes (Joe Washington),” Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield said. “You talk about guys like that and if he's able to come out with the record, that's pretty special.
