OU football: Roy Manning brings new energy to Sooner secondary

NORMAN — Sitting in his car at just past 11 p.m. Saturday, Roy Manning held his phone in front of his face and recapped Oklahoma’s win in a way few would dare try to match.

The words energetic and enthusiastic do little to describe Manning’s signature postgame videos. He yells in an excited, joyful sort of rage until his voice wears thin. The first-year Oklahoma cornerbacks coach has built a social media brand off the hype videos.

“The boys came to play today,” Manning bellowed after OU’s 70-14 victory against South Dakota. “Wasn’t messing around, baby … Offense, I said it once, I’ll say it again.
