DALLAS — After being granted an appeal and being successful in being reinstated, OU defensive end Ronnie Perkins will not play in Saturday's Red River Showdown, according to reports.
There were steps that Perkins needed to take before regaining his eligibility, but those steps were not completed successfully, according to multiple reports.
The Athletic's Jason Kersey was the first to report.
Perkins, along with wide receiver Trejan Bridges and running back Rhamondre Stevenson, was suspended for half of the Peach Bowl after failing an NCAA drug test. According to sources, the trio each tested positive for marijuana.
