NORMAN — Just a day before Oklahoma's annual spring game, cornerback Parnell Motley was nearly prophetic in predicting his performance.
With a stress fracture sidelining fellow cornerback Jordan Parker, Motley knew someone would have a big opportunity to show off in front of thousands of fans at Owen Field on Saturday afternoon — and the rising sophomore knew that it would be him.
“Somebody has to step up,” he said after Friday afternoon's practice. “It'll most certainly have to be me.”
Motley wasted little time in fulfilling that promise, intercepting Baker Mayfield's pass intended for wide receiver Marquise Brown on just the third play of the scrimmage.
