OU football: Lincoln Riley updates injury status of Austin Kendall, Addison Gumbs

NORMAN — Oklahoma second-team quarterback Austin Kendall went down on the far sidelines early in the fourth quarter Saturday in the Sooners' win against Florida Atlantic. Kendall, not putting pressure on his left leg, was helped off the field.

He was later carted off in the final minutes with an ice pack taped to his left knee.

“Don’t know anything on Austin Kendall yet,” OU coach Lincoln Riley said after the game. “We’ll see how he’s doing, but optimistic.”

In worse injury news for the Sooners, Riley announced that sophomore outside linebacker Addison Gumbs will miss the season with a knee injury.
