OU football: Lincoln Riley says he's 'very happy' with running back group

NORMAN — It’s no secret that Sooners coach Lincoln Riley wasn’t happy with the way his team ran the ball against Missouri State in the season opener.

Running the ball figures to be at a premium in this Saturday’s game against Kansas State (11 a.m., Fox), though Riley wasn’t about to entertain how much better OU could be in the running game if Kennedy Brooks hadn’t decided to opt-out of this season.

Brooks has back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

“I’m very happy with the running back corps that we have, so we have plenty of talent there to play well, and I expect it to get a lot better,” Riley said Monday when asked about Brooks’ absence.
