OU football: Lincoln Riley announces spring position changes

NORMAN — Two Sooners will swap positions when spring practice begins Thursday afternoon.

Redshirt freshman Michael Thompson will move from defensive to offensive line.

Sophomore Brayden Willis, formerly a tight end, will move to H-back.

Coach Lincoln Riley announced the moves Wednesday at his spring football press conference.

Thompson, as a 6-foot-5 and 336-pound prospect from St. Louis, was originally recruited by OU as an offensive lineman. He missed last season with a torn ACL.

"We always felt like he had the ability to play O-Line," Riley said. "When we got down to it our numbers have been a little better on the defensive line than the O-Line.
