OU football: Landry Jones becomes first player to join XFL

Former Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones will continue his professional career in the XFL. On Thursday, he became the first player to sign with the new league.

Jones, who played five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, will be one of eight leading quarterbacks for the XFL when it begins play in February.

There's a possibility that Jones could be reunited with Bob Stoops, who will coach the XFL's Dallas franchise.

Jones, who quarterbacked the Sooners from 2009-12, is OU's all-time leader in passing yards (16,646) and touchdown passes (123). He also holds school records in passing attempts, completions, most 300-yard passing games and most 400-yard passing games.
